Frequently Asked Questions

One of our test worlds, built using the World BuilderThe following is a selection of commonly asked questions and their answers. If you have a specific query, please check our forums or contact us.

1. What sort of world can be built using the Everplanes platform?

We developed the technology behind Everplanes to enable us to build a web-based MMO that could be edited in real-time. However, we believe that it is also suitable for hobbyist and academic purposes. Each world may be up to 32km2 in size. Worlds must be suitable for viewing for ages 12+ and must be such as not to cause offense. Broadly, what you would expect to find in current online games.

2. What skills and resources do I need to build my own world?

Our intention has been to make the World Builder as intuitive as possible, online documentation is also available. We provide a small sample of models and terrain textures to get you started but generally you will need to provide your own assets for your world. We support most major 3D packages via our Collada importer and also support MS3D and OBJ.

3. I notice that Everplanes is in beta. How do I get access if I would like to build my own world?

If you would like to build your own world using the platform, please sign up and then wait for us to get in touch with you by email. Everplanes is a large system and so we are adding users on a controlled basis as we test each feature and release new updates. In the meantime, thank you for your patience.

4. I don't want to build my own world, but I would like to visit one. How can I do this?

We will be implementing a guest facility soon. This will allow people to visit a demonstration world. This will be announced on the Everplanes website once available.
