Coded Edge have today expanded the Everplanes beta and given it a new home. This is to coincide with the release of Everplanes Beta 2 to selected beta testers. This latest release includes terrain sculpting, multi-layer painting, water, tides and environmental editing (including sky and clouds).
The Everplanes platform enables users to build 3D worlds for the web. Each world may be up to 32km2 in size and is streamed over the Internet. Real-time editing is possible which facilitates dynamic worlds and collaborative world building.
Everplanes is built using the Elflight Engine, which enables worlds to be deployed within a web page, separate window or full-screen. No plugin is required other than a standard installation of Java.
Everplanes can be used to build online multi-player games as well as more generalised virtual worlds.
About Coded Edge
Coded Edge was founded in 2007 to develop games technologies for the Internet. Their flagship technology is the Elflight Engine which supports hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics in a web browser, near 'instant play' and background streaming of game resources.
