I read recently on the home page you plan to test the software for importing in Maya, 3D Studio and XSI. I would like to make a request for full support for importing objects and animations from Blender 3D software. Is this a possibility? And if not, is Milkshape 3D going to be supported?

other questions

Exactly how user friendly is the Eflight engine going to be? Will it be more for experienced game developers? Or will it also be good for the inexperienced beginner?

Hi Invi. Thank you for your questions.

Since we support Collada and it is possible to export from Blender in this format, what you propose should be possible. At the moment, we are refining and testing the pipeline mainly using Collada files exported from Maya, 3D Studio and XSI but we also plan to look at Blender. If you would like to submit any of your meshes for testing (static or animated), then please get in touch via our main contact page.

We also support Milkshape 3D for simpler models (skeletal animation is available).

Although other games and applications are possible, the main focus of the Elflight Engine is MMOs and virtual worlds. Because of this, tools such as the Elflight World Builder are designed to enable worlds to be built (and maintained) as quickly and efficiently as possible. So for these types of games and simulations, more emphasis is placed on creative work (game design, graphics and sound) and less on programming.
