To a certain extent, the minimum and recommended specification will be determined by the game or other world that you build. For example, the framerate is dependent upon many factors including (but not limited to) the overall polygon count, texture quantity/resolution, transparency, special effects, number (and type) of animations, scene complexity and so on. For our own 'test world' we aim for 60fps on average modern hardware.

The minimum requirement for the engine itself is quite modest - a platform capable of Java 1.5+ and a graphics card capable of hardware accelerated OpenGL graphics (OpenGL 1.2+). One of the purposes of the beta will be to determine the performance and compatibility of the engine in as many different environments as possible.

We are not planning a multi-lingual version of the Coded Edge website at present, but thank you very much for your kind offer.

yes. ok.

60 fps it's very good. don't remember have 60 fps (basic sample world. on other engines ;)). it's lie, with "pro engine", yes.

i work since 5 years ago for my world ... I spent a lot of time to complete my knowledge... i'm not pressed.

i think... waiting so :p
Thanks richard.

We get about 60 fps on our development machines in Lesser Howling, the test village. The machines are not top end graphics/gaming machines so we would hope this figure is realistic.

There are further optimisations to do, so this figure may improve.

The figure is very much dependent upon poly and texture loading of course and this needs to be kept under control.

Our 'Bottom End' test machine benchmark is one of the original Apple Mac Minis with Intel graphics chip set. The engine is still useable on that machine whereas some current MMO's will not run.

...mac mini...

good news in deed. I use a iBook G4 as my test best of a minimal system which seems to fit in well with what most public primary schools in Western Australia have for the years 1 - 4. It is sad when the kids have better PCs/Macs at home than the schools do. Oh well at least the kids have machines to do Mathletics on.
